This incredible book, written by John Wright (F.R.H.S) is full of superbly vibrant chromolithographed colour plates, each with protective tissue paper. Looking at the colour prints, it’s hard to believe this book is almost 130 years old! They really do have to be seen to be believed. The coloured illustrations are by the very talented Marie Lowe, and there are also very sweet illustrated diagrams throughout the book.
The book isn’t much to look at from the outside, but as soon as you open it, the magic it holds is palpable. It is a large, heavy book, in good condition considering its age. An extremely rare find, and I know it’ll be treasured by the lucky person who ends up as its keeper.
