Vintage Book - The Art of Coarse Gardening (1968) with delightful invite discovered inside
This humorous vintage book, ‘The Art of Coarse Gardening’, written by Spike Hughes and published by Hutchinson & Co, is a first edition and dates back to 1968. The book provides a lighthearted snapshot into the world of gardening, alongside funny drawings - it really is a great read! The book has the distinctive old book smell and some ageing to the cover and pages. As a wonderful extra, I found an invite inside the book to the Worshipful Company of Gardeners dinner, dated 1954. I’m guessing it has been used as a book mark! A very special find, and they definitely need to stay together, so the invite will be sent out with the book!
